NS- Veterans Day program

NS- Veterans Day program
North Side Elementary invited veterans to an assembly in which students thanked veterans for their service to our country. Mr. Brad Hoggatt led the Ambassadors in song, the students performed a short skit demonstrating their appreciation to the veterans, a slideshow was presented of North Side family veterans, Taps was played, and students left in silence out of respect for all veterans, those present and those not able to be there. In addition, a Wall of Honor was posted outside of Haviza Court. Veterans and their student family member(s) were invited to a small reception, and then veterans were invited to go to classrooms to visit with students.

NS Free Little Library

NS Free Little Library
RESC now has a Free Little Library. What this is is simply a book exchange open to anyone. The concept is "Take a book, give a book". Students, parents, community members, teachers, etc. are welcome to come and take a book for free that they can keep. When they are done with it and would like a new book, they simply put a book in the library and take a new one out. Find more information at https://littlefreelibrary.org/.

The organization's mission behind starting this movement is:
To promote literacy and the love of reading by building free book exchanges worldwide and to build a sense of community as we share skills, creativity and wisdom across generations.

All of that being said, if you have any "extra" books collecting dust at home  that you would be willing to donate to help us stock the library to start with please send them to Mr. Neils in the North Side office. Thanks for your help, and happy reading.
