Community Thanksgiving and Food Pantry
All are welcome to join us for the "2016 Community Thanksgiving" that will be paired with our November food give away. This dinner is absolutely free and you and your entire family are invited to join us.

Schedule

5:30-6:30 pm- Community Thanksgiving Dinner in Haviza Court

6:30-8:00 pm- Second Harvest Food Giveaway in the Jr/Sr High School Cafe'. We will also be distributing 100 hams as well as some Thanksgiving sides.

6:30-8:00 pm- "Keeping Kids Warm Coat Giveaway" We also have over 150 coats to give away!

FFA Forestry Judging Contest

FFA Forestry Judging Contest
The Union City FFA placed first in the county and 4th in the Area at the Area 7 Forestry Judging Contest.  Team members are Kollin Warren, Derick Williams, Kyle Reichard, and Katie Reichard.  In the individual contest, Kollin placed first in the county, and 6th in the Area.  Derick, Kyle, and Katie placed 4th, 5th, and 6th in the county.  Also competing were Ben Bagozzi and Corey Whitesel.  By placing 4th in the Area out of 16 teams, the team earned a trip to the state contest at Purdue in December.

FFA National Convention

FFA National Convention
The Union City Community FFA officers joined over 60,000 FFA members from around the country at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana Oct 19-22.  The Opening Session in Banker's Life Fieldhouse was highlighted by the Keynote Address from Diana Nyad, who at the age of 60 became the first person to swim from Cuba to Key West.  Students attended sessions each day.  Students also had a chance to attend the Career Expo which had displays from over 350 Agriculture businesses and colleges.  Evening entertainment included a concert by Cole Swindell and Chris Young in Lucas Oil Stadium, a hilarious Hypnotist Show by Jim Wand, and a performance of the World's Toughest Rodeo.  Those attending were Kollin Warren, Kyle Reichard, Kierstan Wolfe-Stewart, Elijah Thornburg, Derick Williams, and Katie Reichard.
