Kid's Club
Randolph County YMCA Kids Club at North Side operates M - F on regular school days from 3:00 - 5:30 p.m. There is a $30 registration fee and the cost is $18 per week. Registration packets are in the NS Office. It is not open on days off and if an early dismissal occurs, Kids Club will not be in operation.
Literacy Groups
A grant from the Indiana Department of Education established support for a small group literacy program in Kindergarten through Grade Two. This program is now locally funded and uses strategies and programs aligned with student literacy needs.
Morning Meeting / Lifeskills
North Side students gather in the multi-purpose room each morning to hear announcements and to focus on lifelong strengths such as integrity, responsibility, perseverance, etc.
Math Bowl Team
Qualifying 4th and 5 th grade students participate on a Math academic quiz team.
Reading Recovery
An intense program designed to work with readers in Grade One that need extra assistance.
Kids Hope Mentoring
Students are paired with a trained adult mentor from an area church. The mentor meets with the student once a week for one hour during the school year. Together, they work on specific skills identified by the classroom teacher and various fun activities to reinforce good citizenship.

North Side uses a software program called Renaissance Place at school. We are using the Accelerated Reader portion of that software to promote reading. It has a feature called Home Connect that allows the teacher, the parent, and the student to access information about the student's progress in Accelerated Reader.
You can login to Home Connect from any Internet connection and compatible web browser. Also, once you are vieweing Home Connect, you can click the Email Setup link and follow the directions to set-up notices with your child's quiz and test results. To ensure emails reach your inbox, add This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to your address book.
